VIRGINIA OPTOMETRIC LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Interested in getting more involved in your profession, but don't know where to start? The VOA has developed a training program just for you. Virginia Optometric Leadership Training (VOLT) is designed to engage ODs who are eager to contribute to the success of the VOA and to advance the profession of optometry. This new initiative will provide hands on training to a small group of selected ODs and will require an application for participation.
Those chosen will be expected to attend at least three events in the course of one year. VOLT is voluntary and only those with serious interest should apply.
Current VOA leadership will be directly involved in running the training sessions. There will be a variety of activities in which participants will be involved – presentations, board meetings, team building, and advocacy. Each OD can expect to learn about the history of the VOA, the VOA structure, and VOA's current goals.
Each participant will be encouraged to join and actively participate in a VOA committee, ask questions and actively engage in discussions, provide feedback, both on VOLT training and on the VOA.
The VOA is only as strong as its members. We can build a strong membership with strong leadership. Get involved – the VOA, and your profession, needs you!
Applications are now being accepted. The $250 registration fee has been waived for the 2024-2025 class. Please send your application in by November 30th. You will be notified no later than December 15th so that you can make plans to attend our Virtual One Day Conference.
